The Micro-Pavilion is designed to be temporary, self-supporting and does not rely on any local structural affiliations to help in supporting it. The pavilion addresses the physical constraints of the site and its ever-changing environment as well as other constraints defined by the team. The pavilion purposes are to:

• Provide a sheltered space

• Be usable for the display of work or holding an event

• Be lightweight for the purpose of transportation and assembly.

• Be easily disassembled and re-assembled

• Be produced within the given budget

• Address the spatial, environmental and structural constraints of the location in the De La Warr Pavilion.

“Fabrication” is used as a principal design development method, deploying both digital and analogue techniques. Fabricating and casting are the central to material testing and developing architectural tectonics. Scaled models, and scaled prototype components and assemblies of the components are the key in the advancement of our team proposition by using string and jasmonite as our main materials.
